And it was fantastic.

At five o´clock in the evening I visited my friend and her sister, who are living in a town nearby. We went to the Best of Irish Dance show. It was magnificent. I have never seen something amazing like it. It was a mix of tap dance, ballet and music. The show tells the story of Patrick and Kate. Patrick ist trying to get her, while she is with his friend. The story goes through the past and is very romantic. All three of us liked it very much and I totally can recommend it. Especially for freinds of Ireland (like the three of us) it is perfct.

Afterwards we made Raclette with some other friends and played Singstar (I totally cannot undestrand, how this thing came to the conclusin we were good, but anyway we had much fun).

At eleven we went to the disco. It was funny somehow, because most of the people there were oer thirty. And we even saw the dancers from the Irish Dance show. At midnight we went outside to see the fireworks. it was a clear night, and so we could see the fireworks in the sky around us. When we came back inside there were much more people. At two it begann to be somewhat crowded (ok, not really, but in contrast to before…).

When we left we were a little sad, because it was really much fun.

Back home we made Raclette again, played Singstar and watched TV until six in the morning.

So the new year began with a great party, much fun and fantastict friends. Our new dog at home with my parents was very brave, he even stayed outside with my parenst. The dog of my friend which also was at my parents was really afraid and styed (like the cats) in the bedroom the whole night.

So here´s a happy new year to everyone, might the new one be better than the last.

Gegen die Legalisierung von Marihuana

Mr. Cairman, hohes Haus, liebe Pro Partei,

vor einigen Jahren kam in Deutschland zur Zeit der Wahlkämpfe mal wieder das Thema auf, ob wir Cannabis nicht lieber legalisieren sollten. Vorgemacht hat es uns ja zum Beispiel Holland, wo Marihuana schon seit Jahren zu den legalen, so genannten weichen Drogen zählt. Hier in Deutschland ist der Besitz und Handel von Cannabis, sowie der pivate Anbau von Hanf verboten.

Tatsächlich muss man Cannabis zu den weiche Drogen zählen, da es kein Halluzinationen, wie zum Beispiel Heroin oder Kokain auslöst. Dennoch hat es ganz zweifellos Auswirkungen auf den menschlichen Körper, bzw auf das Verhalten des Konsumenten. Zugegebenermaßen macht es weniger aggressiv als beispielsweise Alkohol als vielmehr passiv und vielleicht sogar entspannt. Tatsache ist das es eindeutig das Konzentrationsvermögen beeinträchtigt. Folglich würde man bei einer Legalisierung anständige Gesetze benötigen, die zum Beispiel die Kombination aus kiffen und Auto fahren betreffen. Ähnlich wie beim Alkohol wird das Fahrvermögen beeinträchtigt. Man müsste also eine Art Mindestgrenze einführen. Aber genau da beginnen schon die Probleme. Zeigt nämlich ein Autofahrer keine eindeutigen Anzeichen für Drogenkonsum gibt es keine Möglichkeit ihn zuverlässig auf Cannabiskonsum zu testen, oder gar eine Menge zu bestimmen. Ich nehme nicht an, dass einer von ihnen positiv getestet werden will, weil er von Omas Mohnkuchen ein par Stückchen zu viel hatte.

Zudem sei an dieser Stelle erwähnt, das diese Diskussion in den letzten Jahrzehnten nicht mehr ernsthaft aufgetaucht ist, das heißt es hat sich niemals jemand ernsthaft mit den Langzeitschäden oder gar Wechselwirkungen mit Medikamenten oder anderen Drogen irgendeiner Art beschäftigt. Deshalb ist es schwer zu sagen, welche Folgen die Legalisierug von Marihuana auf unsere Bevölkerung hätte. Auch der Vergleich mit Holland hinkt ein wenig, da wir hier von zwei volkommen unterschiedichen Bevölkerungen sprechen. Tatsächlich sind die Holländer vielleicht liberaler, dies könnte aber auch der Grund für ihren zugegebenermaßen relativ problemfreien Umgang mit der Droge sein. Nur weil es dort funktioniert hat heißt es nicht, das man dieses Modell ohne Schwierigkeiten auf Deutschland übertragen könnte. Man kann schließlich nicht bestreiten, dass unsere Gesellschaft anders ist als die der Niederländer ist.

Desweiteren darf man Cannabis als Einstiegsdroge niemals unterschätzen. Schon heute gilt sie als solche. Würden wir sie legalisieren würden wir sie verharmlosen, so wie es auch mit Alkohol und Tabak der Fall ist. Damit hätten vor allem Jugendliche noch einen legalen Einstieg in den illegalen Drogenkonsum. gemeint sind hier natürlich die harten Drogen wie zum Beispiel heroin und Kokain. Natürlich lässt es sich nicht statistisch erfassen, wie viele Menschen damit den Weg in die Drogenabhängigkeit gehen würden. Das Risiko würden wir aber sicherlich erhöhen, und dabei sollten wir für jeden dankbar sein, der diesen Weg nicht findet, nämlich gerade weil Cannabis hier in der Bundesrepublik illegal ist.

Das Stärkste Argument gegen die Legalisierung von Cannabis ist allerdings der Konsumentenkreis. Heute bereits sind die meisten von ihnen Jugendliche. Gerade die Altersgruppe von der man weiß, das der Cannabiskonsum ihnen schadet, es behnindert nämlich die Entwicklung des Gehirns. Würden wir es also legalisieren, so würden wir mehr Jugendlichen den Konsum ermöglichen. Sie können mir schließlich nicht erzählen, das Jugendschutzgesetze da helfen würden, hat bei Tabak und Alkohol schließlich auch nicht funktioniert.

… and it is time to draw the balance. There has been positiv and negative aspects.
After some time of uncertainness I am gettin my latin lessons, I wouldn´t miss for all the money in the world. This means I´m going to get my “great Latinum”, after eight years of learning. I am also working on my Graecum, which is great.
But now to the important parts, you are (hopefully ) all interested in.
Nearly all of my teachers are great. In fact they are all great, but sometimes they are really annoying me (To be honest sometimes even my cat annoys me and I´m loving her with my whole heart). It´s like school is everywhere.
With my classmates it is the same. I don´t like some of them and I like some.
I already found a really good friend, so I am not lonely. She is nothing like, what you might expect on a boarding-school. “Stupid kids of rich parents” is what I often heard when I told people that I am going here for the next two years. She (and some other - not all, that must be said, to be honest) is not like that, not a tiny little bit. She is good at school and she is one of the nicest people I ever met. Additionally she is drawing all the time. Things like three-headed dogs, or magical animals or female characters.
Life here can be really hard. You are not having so much free-time, because we have lessons till the late afternoon on three days a week. The other two days we have Gilden, which are activities you may choose. Debating Society, Guitarre playing, archeology and sailing are which I chose. But there are much more possibilities. We also have school on Saturday. This has been new for me, but it is ok. All for weeks we have a long weekende. We can travel home on Friday at lunch-time.
But the question here is what I like, and what not. The school ground is great, and some people are really nice. I know what´s the advantage of this school for me. And I am having a lot of fun. You may also do things, like archeology, you never thought of before. I reall love the food. It´s is amazing. I don´t think I am going to be hungry at any time. I also have a room for my own.
Because I am not a big fun of drinking, I don´t like the alk-days. People going drinking, isn´t really fun (when they come back).
I also enjoy discussions not only in Debating Society, but also in philisophy. We are discussing about Eva Herrmann, the NPD and foreigner. But sometimes this discussions really make me angry…. I will not say any more on this subject. Every one I know knows about this.
What more?
This week I have to write a lot of exams. I am writing exams nearly every week until holidays. But it is okay.
But what to miss, and what not…?
I DON´T miss television. It is great to watch when I am home, but I hate ads in television, thats because, I am only watching DVD´s here. And I also don´t miss my home village, because the nature here is wonderful. And it is great that you have times, when you have breakfast, lunch… You can plan your days. I like this really much. Sometimes you have to change them, but not so often. Chatting with friends is also great. It is the way, I did it at home.
But I do miss my old friends, and the opputunity to go to town, after school. I also miss my cat , and some other things. But the trick is not to give up, to early. Just try to see the positiv aspects.
So - in every situation- cheer up. It could be worse (Yes, it could )

Überwachung durch den Staat ist wie wir wissen ein durchaus ernst zu nehmendes Problem, welches dieses Jahr immer wieder durch die Medien geht.
Und das alles verdanken wir unserem Innenminister. Herr Schäuble hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, Deutschland sicherer zu machen, indem er alle Bundesbürger überwachen lassen will.
So arbeitet das BKA zum Beispiel schon seit einiger Zeit an einem Bundestrojaner zur Onlinedurchsuchung. Das Problem dabei ist natürlich, dass selbst das Bundesverfassungsgericht, dies für einen “schwerwiegende Eingriff in die Grundrechte” hielt und es aufgrund mangelnder Rechtsgrundlage für Verfassungswidrig erklärte. Und was macht man dann als guter Innenminister?
Man erklärt, dass man eine Rechtsgrundlage schaffen wird, arbeitet weiter mit 200.000 Euro an einem Bundestrojaner und verbietet die Programme, mit denen man einen Antitrojaner herstellen kann. Denn so etwas nennt man bereits Widerstand gegen die Staatsgewalt.
Es ist fraglich, ob die Möglichkeit, dass irgendwann, irgendein deutscher Bundesbürger möglicherweise ein Attentat planen könnte das ist, was den Machern unserer Verfassung vorschwebte, als sie den Artikel zum Brief-, Post- und Fernmeldegeheimnis verfassten und in nur in Bezug auf konkrete Gefahr für die Regierung, Bund oder Länder einschränkten.
Überwachung durch den Staat ist sowieso in Deutschland ein heikles Thema, schließlich haben wir da eine Vorgeschichte, die wir hier nicht so einfach unterschlagen sollten. Denn was unserer Regierung hier plant ist doch nichts anderes als eine neue Gestapo, nur moderner und mit hochtechnischen Mittel ausgestattet.
Alles zeigt mit dem Finger auf den BND und fragt, was dieser jetzt schon wieder für illegale Überwachungen angestellt hat. Und gleichzeitig arbeitet man daran, das wofür man mit dem Finger auf ihn zeigt zu legalisieren. Man sagt dann Sachen wie, wer nichts zu verbergen hat, hat auch nichts zu fürchten. Dumm nur, dass ich mich für den Chemieunterricht über Sarin informiert habe, welches unter die Kategorie der Nervenkampfstoffe fällt. Gleichzeitig habe ich brauen Augen, dunkle Haare und war auch schon mal im islamischen Raum. Dumm gelaufen, bin ich jetzt verdächtig? Und jetzt rufe ich meine beste Freundin an und frage sie, ich bin ja schließlich gegen Überwachung durch den Staat, ob Schäuble, als Betroffener, mit diesem Thema eigentlich objektiv umgehen kann. Jetzt habe ich ein echtes Problem.
Und das alles nur, weil ich von meinen Grundrechten gebrauch gemacht habe. Ich habe mir Informationen verschafft, und frei meine Meinung geäußert. Glauben Sie mir, ich werde in Zukunft vorsichtiger sein, mit dem was ich sage.
Im Prinzip, werden wir also in der Ausübung unsrer Grundrechte behindert.
Ich finde in dem Moment, wo dies alles passiert, können wir unser Grundgesetz in weiten Teilen in Frage stellen.
Das mit der Sicherheit ist sowieso eine schwierige Sache. Denn wenn man für die Überwachung durch den Staat ist, sollte man ehrlich sein. Wenn man nämlich sagt, mehr Überwachung führt zu mehr Sicherheit, meint man ja auch nur mehr Sicherheit durch mehr Überwachung. Und daraus folgt auch, dass absolute Sicherheit nur durch absolute Überwachung erreicht werden könnte. Und genau da liegt nämlich eine sehr große Schwierigkeit, wenn Sie so wollen ein Denkfehler. Wenn man nämlich ehrlich ist, so ist Sicherheit ein subjektives Gefühl. Was man also eigentlich will ist das subjektive Gefühl absoluter Sicherheit, und genau das kann man, sage ich niemals erreichen, weil nämlich in dem Moment, wo wir absolute Überwachung haben, wir zwar keine Angst mehr vor Terroristen und Anschlägen haben, dafür aber vor unserem Staat und der dazugehörigen Behörde. Und jetzt hätten wir zwar absolute Überwachung, das heißt, der Staat kann uns gewissermaßen beim Zeitung lesen zusehen, aber leider immer noch keine absolute Sicherheit. Denn nun wird Ihnen, lieben Mitglieder des Hohen Hauses und auch mir klar, dass alle diese Daten auch missbraucht werden könnten. Denn was für eine Macht hat jemand, der alles über jeden Bundesbürger weiß? Und Macht korrumpiert bekanntlich. ”

When he asked me, whether I would like to drive the car, I first thought this is a joke… I was confused, because he didn´t stop asking me… until I noticed, that I had forgotten, that the irish not only drive on the left side, but also got their drivers seat on the right… Let´s say… I will never ever forget this circumstances… this was embarassing

When we came to their house, we got Pizza and decided who would go into a room together. At this time we were four, because the fifth, a leader would arrive later, because she had to write exams…

It took some time until we felt asleep, but then we slept deep….

Next day, we stood up early(7a.m), because we had to go to school. We had been divided into three groups and got english lessons. We made things like reading comprehension, and had to write, about what we did yesterday, about our family and stuff like this. It was much fun. In the first break, we learned, what irish school-lunch is like. I have to say here, that I liked it very much. We good Sandwich, which means not toasted white bread, and cheese and ham, chips (already salted, cheese & onion, Salt & Vinegar or Prawn Cocktail), a chockolat bar, aplle and orange juice in packs and a fruit.
At twelve every school day, we all met in a special room and sung. In fact, we heard a song twice, and had to fill out the brackets we had on a sheet with the lyrics, and then we sung it at the third time. We had Justin Timberlake, The Fray, The Feeling, Mika, Sunrise Avenue, and a lot more..

After the first day at school we went to Courtown, we we playes Bowling or mini golf. This was so much fun.

In the evening we had a disco in the local rugby club, which was great, but no one from our group decided to dance, except for my friend and me and Ulf our leader. But when it came to Macarena or Saturday night, nearly everyone danced. There has also been an Spanish group.

I think I forgot to mention, that in our host family also has been a French girl, we liked ( we try to stay in contact) very much and a spanish boy…
